 Study-abroad programs in Italy attract students from many different disciplines, from the humanities to STEM fields to business. If you are interested in an immersion program in which you are integrated into an Italian university, check out the BCSP in Bologna, Italy. All of our participants come back fluent! This is also a special opportunity for our Italian majors and global-studies majors. Students of all disciplines can take classes in any department. The University of Bologna is the oldest university in Europe and Bologna is an Italian city made for students.

 The Lorenzo de’Medici program in Florence, Italy has long been a popular choice for UNC students of all disciplines. Students have the option of taking courses there in English as well as in Italian, and course offerings continue to expand to give students more flexibility in meeting Gen Ed requirements in addition to finding classes relevant to their majors. Many students bound for Florence live with other students in the heart of the city, but those looking for an immersion opportunity can elect to do a homestay as well. Students going to Florence can also apply to be a course correspondent. These students receive one IDST credit hour and have a greatly rewarding experience as a documentarian for UNC students back home.

 Rome is ever a popular destination for students of all fields, and at IES -Rome you may take classes in English and Italian. Internships in Rome have become popular for many students. IES internships are also available in Milan
