SPAN 255 is a fifth-semester conversation course that builds oral proficiency by using authentic materials (films, audios, and essays) and creates awareness of Hispanic culture through the UNC Course Correspondent program and the cultural and social project called ‘Community project/newsreel’. Emphasizes vocabulary and the appropriate use of formal and informal expressions as well as grammatical accuracy; writing activities, oral class presentations, and research projects support speaking. Not open to native speakers.

Note: Students may not receive credit for both SPAN 255 and SPAN 266.

Prerequisite: SPAN 204
