Italian America in Literature & Film
After briefly contextualizing Italian immigration to the US from an historical perspective, the course will explore the representation of Italian Americans in Literature and Cinema. The course will attempt to reflect on the “Italian American experience” by tackling issues such as culture, identity, alterity, nostalgia, gender, and race, as seen through different gazes.
No prerequisite; taught in English; open to all students
