Introduction to Hispanic Linguistics

This course is an introduction to the basic linguistic topics of the study of Spanish (Castilian). Students will learn to explain and analyze the Spanish language using contemporary theories of phonetics/phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, and other fields.

Note: This course is required for all Hispanic Linguistics majors and must be taken prior to most Hispanic Linguistics courses numbered 5xx and above.

Prerequisite: SPAN 300
