Introduction to Translation

This course is a history, theory, techniques, and practice course. The historical/theoretical aspect involves surveying the most salient events in the history and theory of translation. The technical aspect involves addressing frequent linguistic problems in Spanish to English and English to Spanish translations. The practical aspect involves engaging in actual translation work in order to learn and apply translation techniques and develop translation experience. The course also has a community extension component.
