FREN 353: Francophone Drama and Multimedia Productions

This course explores theater and multimedia productions in the French-speaking world. Students will be introduced to major questions explored in these works, including experimental aesthetics, social justice, environmental issues, and the influence of “old” and new technologies. We will read and watch theatrical and multimedia productions (films, videos, and/or other visual arts), and examine the aesthetic choices within their historical contexts. Final project includes staging or producing a play.

Prerequisites, FREN 300, and one of the following: FREN 255, 260, or 262. *Taught in French. Counts for FREN minor/major.
Gen Ed: FC-AESTH or FC-GLOBAL.
