About Professor Chambless

Amy Chambless is in charge of the undergraduate program in Italian. In addition to teaching undergraduate courses of all levels, she works closely with graduate teaching fellows and coordinates the efforts of all curricular and extracurricular offerings for undergraduates. She loves teaching Italian language classes, as well as courses in food, culture, literature, and film.  She is the Undergraduate Advisor for Italian and is always happy to talk to students about the Italian Major and Minor as well as Study-Abroad opportunities in Italy. She is also the Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Romance Studies Department and the Liaison for UNC’s Office for Undergraduate Research. In this capacity, she is eager to make students of all languages aware of research and innovative experiences in our field, to talk with them about their ideas, and to help them identify faculty collaborators. She is currently involved in pedagogical projects related to immersive technologies and diversity in cultural approaches to foreign language teaching.
