About Professor Knorr

I love teaching Spanish and learning about the nuances in the language and culture in the 21 Spanish speaking countries! I have lived and worked in Spain, as UNC's graduate student academic coordinator, Nicaragua, where I helped build a library and start ESL classes in the community, Puerto Rico, where I did curriculum development and implementation for Rosetta Stone, and Ecuador, where I helped start the first English immersion program in collaboration with UNC's Center for Galápagos Studies.

I am passionate about volunteering both at home and abroad. Most recently, I served as a Spanish medical interpreter at UNC Hospitals as well as the SHAC free clinic in Carrboro. My happiest moments are when I receive emails from students who have gone to study abroad in Latin America or Spain and who have found a way to use their Spanish to make new friends, try new foods, learn new dances and give back to the local and international community.
