About Professor Alexander

Martha Alexander has been teaching at UNC-Chapel Hill since 2003, where she also completed her undergraduate studies.

Dr. Alexander's interests include Fine Art, especially Spanish Art, Spanish Architecture, and History of Spain and of the United States. She is especially passionate about study abroad in Spain, and has plenty of experience with this, from the perspectives of both student and staff. She was a student during the spring semester of her junior year in Sevilla as part of UNC's Sevilla program. She returned to Spain two years later, this time to Madrid, as a student in Middlebury College's Masters program. She stayed in Sevilla, Spain, for an additional two years, where she was the Vice-Director for The Texas Tech University Center. As a result, she has traveled all over Spain, anf also made several trips back and forth to Spain since then.

In addition to teaching for the Romance Studies department, Dr. Alexander has been a Faculty Advisor for the Zeta Psi Chapter of Sigma Delta Pi National Collegiate Honor Society since 2015. She also serves as the Faculty Advisor to Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, on the Faculty Hearings Board, and on the Advisory Committee on Undergraduate Admissions.
