About Professor Gravatt
Michelle Gravatt is a strong advocate for study abroad and experiential learning and has led several such programs to México, Costa Rica, and Ecuador. She created and was the Resident Director and Instructor for UNC's Spanish for the Professions, Costa Rica, Study Abroad summer program at the Universidad de Costa Rica for five years. The program was designed for undergraduate students studying for careers in the health professions, medicine, public health, nursing, pharmacy, physical therapy, and dentistry, and minoring in Spanish for the Professions on the Medical Track. She has presented on the program at MIFLC, 2014, HICAH, 2014, the Carolina Global Photography Exhibition, 2014, and the University of Richmond, 2013.
Dr. Gravatt loves traveling and has visited the following countries: Andorra, the Bahamas, Canada, Costa Rica, Ecuador, France, Ireland, Italy, México, Morocco, New Zealand, Portugal, Spain, and the United Kingdom.
She is currently the Faculty Mentor to the Johnston Scholars Class of 2020, the Assistant Faculty Coordinator of Intermediate Spanish, 203, and the Department of Romance Studies Development Coordinator.
