About Professor Maqueda-Jiménez

Originally from Seville, Spain, Raquel Maqueda has taught Spanish for over fifteen years in a variety of educational contexts. Prior to working at UNC-Chapel Hill, Professor Maqueda taught Spanish at Salem College, UNC School of the Arts, and Indiana University. In addition, she had the opportunity to teach Spanish as a Teaching Assistant for the University of Limerick in Ireland while studying abroad. She has led several Spanish immersion programs in Cádiz, Ciudad Real, and Valencia, Spain, and she created one of the first study abroad programs for UNC School of the Arts students. Raquel Maqueda has travelled extensively through Europe, Latin America, and India. She currently resides in Chapel Hill with her multicultural family.
