About Aubrey

Aubrey is from Birmingham, Alabama. His passion for the Italian language was cemented during his undergraduate studies, in which he completed a minor in Italian as well as three study-abroad terms in Salerno and Perugia, Italy. While at the University of Mississippi, Aubrey also founded and served as president of the University's Italian Club for four years, and he received the departmental award as the most outstanding Italian Language Student. After receiving his bachelor's degree in 2022, Aubrey lived once again in Salerno, Italy, where he honed his teaching skills by completing an internship at Accademia Italiana in teaching Italian as a second language. During this time, he also passed the CELI 4 exam, obtaining a C1 certification in Italian. Aubrey greatly enjoys teaching and sharing the Italian language with students, and his research interests are both cultural and linguistic, particularly with respect to the dialect of Campania and its influences on the literature and art of the region. Aubrey’s interests include Italian literature and creative writing, and he is excited about the opportunities to further and expand these interests at UNC.
