About Chelsea
Chelsea, or Che to her friends and colleagues, is a first-year Ph.D. student in the Comparative Literature department. After teaching English at a vocational high school in Orange, France, Che is excited to return to academic life and use her experiences to inform her work as a TA for FRENĀ 101.
While her general interests include portrayals of women in varied media, from literature to comic books to television, she hopes to expand her research on post-war Transatlantic feminism, modernism, and mourning to include Franco-Arabic women writers, filmmakers, and artists using the elegy to create a common, cross-cultural female space in conflicting patriarchal societies.
