Bio

Elizabeth Bruno is the Program Director of the Spanish Minor for the Professions. She is a strong advocate for experiential learning and study abroad. In addition, she serves as the UNC Academic Director for Study Abroad programs in Spain and Latin America. She has also designed and taught courses at all levels of Spanish.

Liz has extensive study abroad experience, both as a faculty member and as a student. She has led study abroad programs for UNC students to Chile, Costa Rica, Peru, and Spain. As an undergraduate student, she studied in Spain (junior year abroad). During graduate school she participated in two summer study abroad programs, one in Oxford, England, and another in East Asia (Japan, China, Singapore). She also participated in a community service program in Brno, in the Czech Republic. Prior to earning an MBA from Wake Forest University, Liz worked as a marketing intern in London. She has travelled extensively, including de mochilera (backpacking) through Europe, as well as to several countries in Central and South America.

Liz looks forward to assisting students interested in pursuing the Spanish Minor for the Professions and to working with students interested in taking part in a study abroad or volunteer abroad program.
