About Professor Pruvost

Valérie Pruvost is the Director of French Language Instruction (since 2018).

Valérie enjoys teaching all levels of French Language and French Culture/Conversation courses. Her other interests are in teaching French Grammar courses and teaching Medical/Healthcare in French. Her research and conference talks primarily focus on foreign language learning and pedagogy. Since 2004, she regularly coordinates courses in the Language Program: French for High Beginners [105] or Intermediate French I (or II) [203/204], as well as French Conversation I [255].

Valérie served as Faculty Advisor in the “Academic Advising Programs” from 2004-2019 on the Humanities, Fine Arts, and Social Sciences Division. She was the Representative of Institutes for Higher Education for the Foreign Language Association (“FLANC”) from 2021-2023. Since 2003 she has regularly served on numerous Departmental and University Committees (such as: the ROMS Technology and Innovation Committee, Faculty Council, the Faculty Executive Committee, the Faculty Honor System Advisory Committee, and the Advisory Committee).
