Bio

Brooke completed her undergraduate studies at UNC Asheville, where she took an interdisciplinary approach to Spanish, psychology, and women’s studies. Her study abroad and internship experiences in Cuenca, Ecuador compelled her to complete a year of service after graduating, during which she worked with Spanish speaking communities in Western North Carolina. She is now at UNC for her graduate studies.

Brooke’s research revolves around late sixteenth and seventeenth century Spanish American poetry. She is also interested in service learning, dual language education, and second language acquisition.

Brooke is currently in Seville, Spain on a yearlong graduate internship where she works with the study abroad company CINECU.
