Jossette is a PhD student in French who came to UNC in the fall of 2017. She is interested in ecocriticism, disability, health, and the relationship between the body and the environment. She has worked as a co-organizer for both the 2018 and 2019 Tournées French Film Festivals and is an active participant in the Graduate Romance Association.

In addition to her research and service to the department, Jossette absolutely loves teaching French – especially to new language learners. She has a background in second language acquisition, teaching English as a second language, and secondary education pedagogy. What she enjoys most about teaching is creating a learning community that makes everyone feel welcome to make mistakes and learn from one another.
