Within language teaching, Kathryn’s interests are in student motivation and functional language use. During her MA, she was a graduate teaching fellow at a Language Resource Center where she wrote curricula and acted as a researcher. She has taught in Mexico at a language school and at a university as a professor. She was also a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant Grantee to Portugal, where she worked in higher education as an instructor, and with the local community and various State Department organizations. She arrived at UNC Chapel Hill in 2018 to start a graduate degree at the School of Public Health.
