Guest talk: HISTORY, LITERATURE, AND RESISTANCES

Join us for a guest talk by the celebrated Angolan writer, poet, and filmmaker Ondjaki, followed by a discussion with the author.

Born in Angola in 1977, Ondjaki is the author of six novels, seven collections of short stories, six poetry collections, one play, and nine children’s books. He has also directed the documentary film, May Cherries Grow, about his native city, Luanda. In 2022 his new film The Kitchen premiered at the International Film Festival of Rotterdam. His books have been translated into French, Spanish, Italian, German, Serbian, English, Polish, and Swedish. Transparent City is his most recent book in English.
