Edgardo Miranda-Rodriguez is an artist, graphic designer, writer at Marvel Entertainment, Editor-in-Chief at Darryl Makes Comics LLC, Art Director/Owner at Somos Arte and Studio Edgardo creative services, and creator of “La Borinqueña”, a new and original comic book character that has grown into a cultural phenomenon and a nationally recognized symbol of Puerto Rican patriotism, social justice, and equality for all. “La Borinqueña” is the first, modern- day comic book superhero that exemplifies the patriotic symbolism, history, and mysticism found on the island of Puerto Rico.

Miranda-Rodriguez’ original superhero has teamed up with comic book characters from DC Comics in a project called Ricanstruction: Reminiscing & Rebuilding Puerto Rico a comics anthology created to benefit ongoing relief efforts in the island. The project collaborates with some Puerto Rican and Latinx celebrities including Rosario Dawson (Luke Cage), Rubén Blades (Fear the Walking Dead), Javier Muñoz (Hamilton), Sonia Manzano (Sesame Street), and others.
