About Santiago G.

Santi Gesteira is a PhD student in the Romance Studies Department at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill. He is interested in cultural representations of environmental conflicts in the Iberian Peninsula, especially those around extractivist practices. His current research focuses on narratives produced within the context of monoculture of trees as a resource for timber and paper industries.
