Tournées Festival – Timbuktu

Based on the 2012 jihadist siege of the titular city in Mali, this film shows a ragtag band of Islamic fundamentalists announcing their increasingly absurd list of prohibitions – no music, no sports, no socializing – to Timbuktu’s denizens, several of whom refuse to follow these strictures, no matter the consequence.
