About Ana María

Ana María is from Quito, Ecuador. For her master thesis, she studied the relationship between Ecuadorian avant-garde poetry, mysticism and neobaroque. She was awarded with two fellowships to collaborate with the Asociación de Academias de la Lengua Española (ASALE) and she worked in projects such as La Nueva Gramática Básica and the last edition of the Diccionario de la Real Academia de la Lengua Española. In her literary research, she analyzes the turn of the century literatures, both Nineteenth and Twentieth Century, and explores the intricate relationship between being and appearing, writing and simulating in Latin American modernity.
